Educational content, not advice
Everything on The Gold Agent, including signals, outlooks, analysis, community answers, tools and videos, is general market commentary published for educational purposes. It is not investment advice or a personal recommendation, and it is not an offer or a request to buy or sell anything.
Nothing on the site takes your personal situation into account: your goals, your finances, your experience or how much risk you can take. A trade that suits one person can be wrong for another. You decide for yourself whether and how to trade, and you are responsible for those decisions. If you need personal advice, talk to a licensed financial adviser.
We are not authorised by Finanstilsynet and do not provide investment services. See the about page for details.
The risks of trading
- You can lose all your capital. With leveraged products such as CFDs, forex and crypto futures, losses can be fast and large.
- Prices move fast. Gold and crypto in particular can make big moves in seconds, especially around economic news, and gaps can jump past a stop loss.
- Crypto-assets are largely unregulated and very volatile. You may have little protection if an exchange fails.
- Signals can and do lose. Losing trades are part of every published track record, including ours, and losing streaks happen.
How results are measured
Results are shown in R, the multiple of the amount risked on a trade. A stop loss is −1R. A take profit is worth the signal's reward-to-risk ratio, so a 1:2.5 signal that reaches its target is +2.5R. Trades closed at other prices (partial take profits, breakeven or a manual close) are measured the same way from their exit price. Levels can be adjusted (entry only before a pending order triggers, stop loss and take profit while the trade is open): every change is time-stamped and shown on the signal, and R is always measured against the stop loss in place when the trade was triggered.
Please read these results with the following limits in mind:
- They are hypothetical. They are not the returns of a real trading account, and they don't show what anyone actually earned.
- They leave out trading costs: spread, commission, swap and overnight fees, and slippage. Your results after costs would be lower, sometimes by a lot on short-term trades.
- They use the site's own price feed. Entries and exits are recorded at prices from our market data feed, which can differ from your broker's prices. A level that was reached on our feed may not have been reached at your broker, and the other way round.
- They assume you acted on every signal immediately, at the published levels and with the same risk on every trade. In practice, delays and missed trades change the outcome.
- Past results do not predict future results.
No liability for trading losses
To the extent Norwegian law allows, Ethan Hunt is not liable for any loss or damage, including trading losses or lost profits, that comes from using the site, acting on its content, relying on alerts, or using a broker or other third-party service linked from it. This doesn't limit liability that cannot be limited by law, such as for intent or gross negligence, or your mandatory rights as a consumer.
Broker and affiliate links
Some links to brokers and exchanges are affiliate links: we may earn a commission if you open an account through them. We are not a broker, never handle your money, and are not part of any agreement between you and a broker. Check that a broker is authorised where you live before you open an account. See the conflicts of interest on the about page.
Community rules
The community is for discussing analysis. By posting you agree to these rules:
- Analysis only. Ask about structure, key levels, scenarios and what would invalidate them. We don't give buy or sell calls, entries, or "should I take this trade?" answers.
- Pick the pair and timeframe you're looking at, and describe what you see first.
- Be respectful. No harassment, hate speech, spam, promotions, signal groups or links (apart from TradingView chart snapshots).
- Never share personal details, yours or anyone else's, or account numbers or broker logins. Everything you post is public.
- Don't post anything illegal, misleading, or that infringes someone else's rights, and don't pretend to be someone else.
- Nothing posted in the community is financial advice, including our replies.
You are responsible for what you post. We may hide, lock or delete any post, and suspend or ban any account, at our discretion and without notice, for example when a post breaks these rules. We don't check posts before they appear and aren't responsible for what other members write. If you see something that breaks the rules, please report it.
Your content
You keep ownership of what you post. By posting, you give Ethan Hunt a free, non-exclusive, worldwide licence to store, display and reproduce your questions and replies on The Gold Agent, together with our answers, and to quote them in our own channels (for example when a video answers a community question). The licence ends when your content is deleted, except for copies that were already published before then.
Our content and branding
The signals, analysis, outlooks, charts, text, tools, the name "The Gold Agent" and the logo belong to Ethan Hunt. You may read and share links to them and use them for your own personal learning. You may not copy, republish, resell or redistribute signals or other content, for example in another signal group, without our written permission. Third-party names, logos and TradingView charts belong to their owners.
No guarantees
The site is provided "as is". We do our best to keep it accurate and online, but we don't guarantee that it is always available, free of errors, or up to date. Prices can be delayed or wrong, and alerts can arrive late or not at all. Don't rely on the site or its alerts to manage your trades. We may change, pause or remove any part of the site at any time.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version, and continuing to use the site means you accept it.
Governing law
These terms are governed by Norwegian law, and disputes go to the Norwegian courts. If you are a consumer living elsewhere, you keep any mandatory protections the law of your country gives you.
